Our Philosophy

PocketList is built on the principle of Absolute Data Sovereignty. We don't just protect your data; we ensure it never leaves your hands. The app is entirely self-contained and operates independently of any central infrastructure.

Zero Servers

We do not own or operate any servers for PocketList. There is no central database, no cloud sync, and no backend infrastructure.

Offline Forever

The app does not require an internet connection to function. Your grocery lists and catalogs live exclusively on your device's hardware.

Data Storage

All information you enter—products, descriptions, prices, and weights—is stored in a local Room SQLite database. This database is sandboxed within the app's private storage on your Android device.

  • No account creation or registration required.
  • No tracking pixels, analytics, or behavioral monitoring.
  • No personal identifiers collected (Name, Email, Device ID).

Photos & Media

When you take a photo of a product, it is saved directly to your device's internal private storage. These images are never uploaded, shared, or accessible by us or any third party.

Your Responsibility

Because PocketList is 100% local, we cannot recover your data if you lose your phone or delete the app. We recommend using your Android device's standard backup features to ensure your local data is preserved.
